Summer All-Comer Track 2013

Click ABOVE for a fanastic video about the meets!

Summer 2013 SCHEDULE suspended until further notice due to the Grant Track resurfacing this summer. We appreciate everyone's patience as we look for alternative locations for the meets. Please check back soon for more information!

Summer All Comer Track meets typically begin in June and run through July.  The fun starts with the 60 meters for kids and predict mile and ends with the 4 x 100 relay at 7:45 with many events in between.

Join us for a fun-filled Summer of track and field all over our great city! We have added a few new locations this year to increase accessibility for all areas of Portland. Kids and adults of all ages are invited to this Portland tradition as Foot Traffic, Portland Parks, and partnering high schools host weekly track meets featuring all kinds of track and field events (see schedule below). 2012 was a great success with nearly 2,000 participants over the 8 weeks of track meets. We hope you join us again this Summer!

"I went to my first one last night with 5 kids of different age groups.  I want to thank you for putting this event on it was great.  The kids were inspired to try new things and more importantly to me, they were all exhausted and slept well!  We will look forward to more track meets next summer."

ABOUT All-Comer Cross Country:

Check out this VIDEO of Overlook XC!

For over 15 years, Foot Traffic has been hosting and sponsoring youth & adult track and cross country races in the Portland Metro area. Our goal has always been to introduce the sport to as many students as possible with an emphasis on participation and education over intimidating practice schedules.

When Portland Parks and Recreation and Foot Traffic instituted it's first all comer cross country meet at Overlook Park, our goal was to serve those young athletes that either didn't have the means to participate, or simply didn't know about the sport. So whether your young athlete is a returning runner or a first-time jogger, they are sure to exit the meets feeling excited and enthusiastic about the sport!

HOW TO REGISTER?

CLICK HERE FOR REGISTRATION FORM (RECOMMENDED)

Pre-register by printing this form and dropping it off and paying at any Foot Traffic store before the meet. You will receive a ticket from them that you can turn in to the starter at the meet.

Participants may also show up to Overlook Park 20-30 minutes before the race (schedule above) and head to the Foot Traffic tent to fill out a waiver and pay for the entry (cash only please!). It is recommended you pre-register to save you time given that there can be long lines before the race.

2013 DRAGONSLAYER INVITE information:

Please read instructions below carefully for this event:

  • BUS dropoff for students should be done on Overlook Blvd., just North of the park (click for a map). The main entrance gets too crowded for large groups of students to be dropped off and this allows buses to park within the neighborhood as they wait for the next hour. Please obey all neighborhood parking rules.
  • Overflow parking will take place in the Kaiser lot on the EAST side of interstate, just across the street from the park (click here for map).
  • Registration for teams over 10 students (for the Dragonslayer Invite only) can be done by downloading this form HERE and emailing it to info@foottraffic.us. Teams can also register at the event starting at 4:15pm. We will have waivers and forms there.

YOUTH XC CLUB
